Port Monaco

The Quai Ranier III was built at the start of this millennium. The floating jetty doubles the capacity of the Port of Monaco and enables large yachts and vessels to enter the port. The jetty accommodates a car garage for 600 vehicles and serves as a breakwater allowing safe entry for yachts and vessels. The ball-and-socket joint connecting the floating jetty to the quay needs its ten-yearly maintenance.

With its many years of experience with technical underwater issues, Strukton Immersion Projects has been able to offer a solution guaranteeing the safety of the people performing the maintenance of the ball-and-socket joint. The habitat developed for this aim is equipped with inflatable seals repelling the water in dynamic circumstances. The seals have been developed together with Trelleborg. The traffic on and around the jetty will remain possible during the project and the shipping and cruise terminal will not be affected.
