Strukton C&T W.L.L. to construct Roads and Infrastructure at Um Alhoul Economic Zone in Doha, Qatar

In July, Strukton Construction & Trading W.L.L., has signed the first contract with Manateq / Leighton Contracting Qatar W.L.L. in Doha, Qatar, for the Construction of Roads and Infrastructure at the Um Alhoul Economic Zone, Packages 3.1.A and 3.1.B.

Strukton C&T W.L.L. is responsible for the supply of Polymer Modified Bitumen (PMB) for the newly built Economic Zone 3 (QEZ-3), which is considered a complete city integral to Qatar National Vision 2030. PMB strengthens the asphalt to such an extent that service life nearly doubles, even with heavy use.The scope of work of Strukton comprises the spreading and compaction of sub-base and road-base material (supplied by Leighton Contracting Qatar W.L.L. - HLG), supply lay and compact Asphalt base course and Wearing course.

The Qatar Economic Zone 3, Um Alhoul, will accommodate around 60,000 people, offering them accommodation, recreation, and public and community services, besides the commercial and business activities. It extends an area of 27 sq.km. Um Alhoul will bring together a number of activities related to metallurgy, petrochemicals, construction materials, logistics and marine industries.
